Everyday is a Gift!

I made this for a friend's daughter to hang in her college dorm room. I made it out of the Dahlia Nestabilitie Die. The image is Flutter Anya, and yes, I made her hair look funky because my friends daughter's hair is funky with stripes, yes, I said stripes not streaks! She is a wild one :-), but super beautiful, smart and funny! It's a flower, so I can enter it in the Magical Monday's Flower Challenge.

Stamp and Create Product Spotlight-Nestabilities

This weeks product spotlight at Stamp and Create is nestabilities. Nestabilaties, except the new releases are 25% off. Nestabilities dies are so verstilite. Instead of using the typical cutting technique, I chose to emboss. First I stamped and coloured Lacey, then I embossed the Large Big Scalloped Circle around my image. I left the nestabilites on my image and sponged SU crumb cake ink on the inside. I trimmed the shape by following the outer most embossed rim.
You only have til this coming Sunday September 5  to enter the current Stamp and Create Monthly Challenge of Flowers.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:Wags n' Whiskers Lacey, PTI Sentiment
Paper:Lush Kaiser Craft Paper
Accessories:Large Big Scalloped Circle Nestabilities Die, Prima Poppyfield Fairytale RosesIvory Prima Trellis Rose, and May Arts White Crochet Ribbon.

I made the flowers with several of my SU punches, sprayed them with water, cruched them up and then let them dry. I added some K&Company Pearl brads for the large flowers and Kaiser Craft Pearls for the small flowers.

Card for my dad

This is a card I made for my dad, simple yet elegant. He loved it! I inked up the flourished frame cuttlebug folder then stamped it on paper. I scanned the image. Then I converted the image to an svg file. I then cut the shape out with my cricut using sure cuts a lot2 software. I then took the shape and then put it in the (clean) cuttlebug folder. Ran it through my big shot. The result was a cleanly cut piece embossed with the flourished frame. I then cut out a slightly larger bigger shape in blue and put it behind the white piece. I cut out a blue and white rectangles to fit over the center of the flourished frame. I stamped the sentiment in black craft it and embossed it with silver embossing powder. I got the charm from a store that sells masonic supplies.

It's Grilling Time!

I have been slowly making a recipe stand for my kitchen. So far I have a divider for Salad, Thanksgiving, Christmas Recipes. My latest one is for summer grilling recipes! Critter Sketch Challenge # 29 is to make a boy/man card or scrapbook page and to use some sort of glitter. In a caveman grunts, man, meat, fire.... glitter. For the glitter, I added diamond stickles to the flowers and chef apron, gloves and hat.

This week  at Stamp and Create the spotlight is shining on Dustin Pike High Hope Stamps. I used the Flame Broilin' BBQ chef, perfect for my BBQ Recipes divider. I wanted the page to look like a back garden grilling scene. I personally love the picket fence with the roses. I cut out  the picket fence using my cricut and sponged it with walnut stain and weathered wood Tim Holtz distress inks. I added some deep red and green small prima roses so they look like they are intertwined with the fence. It fits in so well with the the Stamp and Create August challenge of  flowers!

Supplies Used:
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, SU Wild Wasabi, Walnut Stain and Weathered Wood Tim Holtz Distress inks Copic Markers
Cardstock: SU Wild Wasabi, Gina K Pure Luxury Vanilla
Accessories: Cricut Create, Sure Cuts A Lot 2 software, MFT Grass and cloud dies , Prima Mini Roses green and deep redDiamond and Black Diamond stickles, 3M mounting foam, Scor tape adhesive.

Got Pink?

This weeks challenge for High Hopes (#83) is to use your favourite embellishment. Do you remember that feeling of when you learned how to ride a bike, you got that excited thinking about it and couldn't wait to do it again? Right now, that is the feeling when I think about charms! Of course my charm would feel lonely by itself, so it got some friends...some of my other warm feeling favourites;  felt flowers and homemade brads made with my i-Top brad maker. I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday #114.  Lastly, 7 KidsCollegeFund is starting a new challenge blog. It's another every 2 week challenge blog. I love these, it gives one time to think about the challenge. The theme of the first challenge is pink and polka dots.

Bicycle....Bicycle...Bicycle, I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike! Take 2

I fixed the ribbon on the card, and I am reposting for posterity!

I had so much fun making this card. The sketch is from the Sweet Sketch Wednesday Challenge Blog #60. I made the wheels by cutting them out using a file found on the Craft Edge-Sure Cuts A Lot forum and my cricut. I took two wheel frames and glue them together using a piece of 3M mounting foam. I then glue the rims together using crystal effects. I then outlined the rims with black liquid appliqué, let it dry then used my heat gun to pop it up to look like wheel tires. I used my Smooch Illuminate top coat to make the wheel spokes look shiny! I used long brads to attach them to the card, You can actually move the wheels! I love action on my cards! I used a PTI impressions plate to emboss the top and bottom pieces of cardstock. I added some ribbon and a bicycle charm. Such a fun card!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:
