My First Easter 2010 Card
I always seem to be behind in my cards when it comes to all holidays except for Christmas (and yes, my Christmas/Holiday cards are usually made by now). This year I was able to make my Valentines day cards a good week in advance, yeah me! Having made English Pancakes in celebration for Shrove Tuesday, I figure I should start making some Easter cards now.
A while ago, I coloured this Bunny Masterpiece with copic markers, cut it out with one of my a nestabilitie dies and tossed it into my coloured image collection box.
This weeks High Hopes Challenge is to use three Designer Papers, three flowers, and three buttons. This challenge coupled with a flip through the Taylored Expressions Sketch Book (my new layout bible) resulted in this card.
High Hopes Stamps: Bunny Materpiece, Script Happy EasterCardstock: Bazzil
Designer Paper: Basic Grey Sugar Rush Paper Pad
Brads: Stampin' Up Ice Circle rhinestone brads
Buttons: Tutti Fruitti Boutique Buttons stitched to card using DMC floss.
Orange Felt Rick Rack: Joanns fabric department

Beads...not just for jewelry making
I read an article in a British papercrafting magazine about stitching beads onto cards. Hmmm...seems like a neat idea. The layout is an altered version of Taylored Expressions 100th Sketch Challenge. I used peach beads on the trim around the large 3/4 circle, the trim on the "Taken with Teal" strip, and the trim around the sentiment circle. The bodies of the two butterflies are teal beads.
Colours Used: Pumpkin Pie, Taken with Teal and Whisper White.
All Supplies are Stampin' Up except:
Sentiment: Papertrey Ink Mini Mixed Messages
Large Scallop Circle, Large Circle, small base scallop circle: Nestablilites Butterfly Punches: Martha Stewart
Beads: Michaels
Thanks for visiting my little slice of the Internet!

I missed the boat...
on last weeks High Hopes Challenge. The challenge was to use wire or some sort of metal embellishments on a card. I have never used wood on a card before, so I thought I would use it as the wood on Noah's Ark. What better way to hold wood planks together...wood dowels! I guess I'll use some screws instead. I like the concept of what I did but I look forward to improving on this card in the future. All stamps used on this card are High Hopes.
