Critter Challenge Sketch #22: Thank You Theme

This week's challenge on the Critter Sketch Challenge Blog is an inspiration challenge. Melanie thought it wouls be fun to celebrate what we are thankful for, so the theme of the card is Thank You. It's my off week, but I am still joining in with the fun.

I am using some fun digital paper called Coney Island Summers that I found at Robyn's Fetish, our July Sponsor.  The pearls are heat-activated-adhesive-backed rhinestones that I applied using the i-rock tool, both from Imaginisce

I feel like Sally Fields at the Oscars, "I can't deny the fact that you like me, right now, you like me!" This is how I felt when I received the message that one of my cards made the top three on June’s charm challenges over on Stamp and Create. You can read all about it here. Now I have a fun little banner to post on my blog!


I have been so busy with my Christmas/Holiday cards, that I have been neglecting the normal weekly challenges in which I participate. To avoid total insanity and the need to strangle the ever so cute Popcorn the Bear, I did take a break and create a card for a special purpose. Michelle, one of Stampavie’s Design team members had a horrible accident with one of her donkey’s and needs some special well wishes. Stampavie provided a free digital download for some donations to Michelle’s medical bills. There is a huge card drive also happening on the Spoonful of Sugar Blog. Meljen Designs provided a cute digital download to help sponsor sending tons of cards to Michelle. For my card I used this week’s Sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday #57 and added some stitching for July challenge on Stamp and Create. I am still in charm mode from last month’s challenge so I added a cute heart charm to match the heart patch on the donkey.

Blog Candy Update

Critter Sketch Challenge # 21 Use at least four stars!

Happy July! It's my favourite month of the year because it's my birthday month! Since it's a new month, that also means a new Sponsor for the Critter Sketch Challenge Blog. Mushroom with Matchstick

When I showed the following card to a close family member, he asked "Why is there a matchstick sticking out of the mushroom?"  Ummmm, that's a ladybird (ladybug).  I thought it was funny so I had to share. Going to be quick again. It's the Fourth of July, it's HOT, I should be in the pool

It's summertime and I should be in the swimming pool. So I will make this post short. This tool guy is for two challenges:

High Hopes Challenge # 82 - Super Star, use stars somehwere on your project.

The piece on the right hand side is made up of thin wood sheet pieces that I sponged with Tim Holtz Weathered Wood and Walnut Stain Distress inks. I wanted it to look like a floor or deck that someone would build!
